People always look surprised when they learn about my taste for the chanson française  and they usually ask me to name the most popular French song, and my answer is always the same: La Marseillaise. It’s not usual to find an adult who has never heard the French national anthem, and often without even knowing the name, people immediately recognize the song when I hum the melody. I love when talented people decide to record a good cover of Serge Gainsbourg’s songs, and even wrote a post about the subject a while ago. Bonnie and Clyde has never been among my favorites Gainsbourg’s, until last week. The duo Freedom Fry – formed by a French girl and an American guy – released a great version of Bonnie and Clyde in their last EP, called Outlaw, and I loved it! Check it out.
