Elis in Paris


The great Brazilian singer Elis Regina pleased both Brazilian and French crowds. Her first appearance at Olympia was so successful that the famous parisian venue had to open an exception and invite Elis to go back in the same year for a second season. That was the first time in the history of Olympia that something like that ever happened.

However, in 1968, Elis was such a big hit in Paris that an exception had to be made. During the same year, she released a compact called Elis Regina in Paris, a record that brings a great French version of the amazing Noite dos mascarados, composed by one the the Brazilian greatest Chico Buarque.
