I’m sure it’s not a secret to you guys that I’m super excited with the release of the posthumous record by Henri Salvador, that is being produced by no one less the Benjamin Biolay, as I reported last December. The album will be released in June 18 and already has a name: Tant de temps. Very appropriate. And that’s the reason why I got so excited when I read today that there’s already a taste of this so awaited album circulating the web (don’t you just love the internet?). The song is called Ça n’a pas d’importance and you can…

Do you guys remember that, last year, during an interview with Benjamin Biolay in Paris, I heard him speaking of a work in progress about a brand new record with new song by the late Henri Salvador? Well, finally today there was news on the very much awaited new album. Apparently, it will be released on June 18. While we anxiously wait, how about listening to one of his most fun covers? It’s a song that always makes me smile.

Yesterday I got an email from a Belgium artist telling me about his work. His name is Frédéric Lorge, and he uses the artistic name of Deauville. His first record of French music will be out next 15th, on iTunes Store. Out of all the songs on his SoundCloud page, my favorite was the charming L’important, and yesterday I listened to it over and over.

I posted here that, since last Monday, Emily Loizeau on her Fan Page that she was back in studio for the recording of her third record. Since then, she’s been posting images for her so called “Journal de bord d’enregistrement” and I decided to post the pictures here, since I know it’s not everyone who has a Facebook account (is it really?). And, of course, that’s a pretty good reason to listen to one of her songs. I selected Voilà Pourquoi, a cute song from Emily Loizeau’s her first record, to be the soundtrack of this post. Day 01: Monday Day 02: Tuesday…

Singer Barcella released today two new titles that will be released in his next record, scheduled to be out in…I have no idea when. Anyhow, there’s a very nice song called Ma Douce available on his website and there’s also Claire Fontaine, a song that you can download for free (who doesn’t love free stuff, right? I know I do). I’d prefer that the free song would have been Ma Douce, but you know what they say, we can’t have it all. Be careful clicking on Barcella’s website, though: the song is programmed in autoplay (don’t you hate when they…

Pink Martini’s newsletter arrived today with an interesting information about an exciting new product (first time I ever heard about such a thing): the Playbutton. The playbutton is nothing but a lapel pin that plays music, literally. How cool is that??In Pink Martini’s case, they are releasing their first record in this brand new format and the amazing Sympathique button is available for the price of US$ 10 (it comes with an USB charger). The songs are in the same order of the original album and they can’t be downloaded. And if you are as amazed as I am with the idea for…

Great news this Monday. The new Anaïs single is available on iTunes Store (only in Europe, as far as I know) and the great website Filles Sourires posted a player with the new song. And I have just read on Emily Loizeau’s fan page that she is in studio for the recordings of her new record. I don’t have any other information regarding to release date or name yet, but I’ll post it as soon as I find out. While we wait for her new record, how about remembering one of the songs from her last album?

I know I haven’t said a word about Juliette Gréco’s new record, but I will, as soon I have some spare time. Meanwhile, I leave you guys with this very charming video of her duet with Melody Gardot. Two divas on screen…that should be interesting, right? The song is Sous les ponts de Paris.

http://www.off.tv/wp-content/themes/offtv_v2/export_player.php?w=480&h=360&video=3574

Sweet dear Berry finally released the single for her new record, the very much awaited Les Passagers. The French singer’s second album will be out on April 23 but, meanwhile we can delight both our eyes and ears with the video for Si c’est la vie. And here is the front cover for Berry’s new record, with a stunning pic. Doesn’t she look amazing?

Yesterday, the great website Pure Charts released a player with a preview of Je n’embrasse pas les garçons, the song that plays in the background of the video I posted here that shows Anaïs in studio. The single has the release date set to next Monday, the February 6 on the French Amazon. I’m super excited with the release of Anaïs third album, specially because, as she announced earlier in January, it’s gonna be all about covering French classics from the 30’s to the 60’s. Anaïs have been performing this song in live concerts for a while now: The original was…
