The character Gil, from Midnight in Paris, said several times in the movie that he loved Paris when it rains. He said that the city is more beautiful and shiny, and I even agree, but I do not share that same adoration. When it rains in Paris, the city really shines, but the rain here tends to be boring, with very thin droplets that seem to have to sole purpose of annoying the peasants. Today is one of those rainy days that keeps me from walking around, and, before I was bored to death, I decided to listen to some French songs about…
Last month I was fortunate enough to watch a free concert Berry gave in one of the Fnac Stores in Paris. I had to arrive early, of course, but I was so close to her and the concert was just so adorable that the waiting in line was worth the while.
Close to where I’m staying, there’s a little street next to a church and I was told that Michel Gondry was filming in that street last week. So I inflicted myself with the herculean task of fishing the top 100 in this HUGE list of 2750 songs about the City of Lights. Problem was: soon, I realized that, not only I would need more the one day work on this list, a post with 100 players would be so big that no internet connexion would be able to charge this blog. So I cut down the list to 50 (which is still, way too much), and…
